Bouy Washes Up In Carolina Beach
News - Local News
Saturday, 30 January 2010

This photo was sent in by local resident Bob Blocher. It's a bouy that washed up on the beach in Caroina Beach in the vicinity of Carolina Beach Avenue North on January 30, amid strong surf and wind conditions. Much of the New Hanover County and surrounding areas were experiencing rain and ice conditions on Jan. 30. Road conditions declined tonight as temperatures dip into the twenties and rain that fell throughout the day quickly freezes becoming sheets of ice. Wrecks closed the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge due to icy conditions. Crews with the North Carolina Department of Transportation were sent to salt bridges in the area. With temps in the 20's and highs on Sunday expected to remain in the lower 30's, motorists are urged to exercise caution.
