CAROLINA BEACH - The Town of Carolina Beach Fire Department will be conducting its bi-annual hydrant flow testing throughout the community on Monday, November 16 through November 20, 2009 in the area west of Lake Park Blvd. and south of Dow Road. The Town wants residents to know that during this time some may experience a slight discoloration of their tap water. This is caused by the change in the velocity within the water main stirring up sediment that has over time settled out of the water. (Commonly called Turbidity.) According to the Town, It is important to know that this discoloration does not pose a health risk and will generally dissipate within two to four hours. If your water becomes discolored while you are doing laundry, wait until the water clears and rewash the laundry in clear, cold water. Using a rust stain remover should help to remove any stains from the garments. Do not use hot water or bleach while rewashing your laundry. For more information, please contact Lindsey Manning at the Town of Carolina Beach by calling 910-458-4821. |
