Red Cross Cape Fear Area Chapter names new executive director James D. Jarvis

WILMINGTON, July 18, 2017—The Eastern North Carolina Region of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce that James D. Jarvis, former Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces manager for the Cape Fear area, has been selected to serve as the new executive director of the Cape Fear Area Chapter.
As the new Cape Fear Area Chapter Executive Director, Jarvis will serve as the senior Red Cross staff member for Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, and Wayne Counties. This territory includes Red Cross offices on four military bases. “I am excited to work with so many great Red Cross volunteers, staff and supporters who give so freely of themselves to make our communities safer and more resilient,” Jarvis said. “There is a reason that so many people want to live in Eastern NC and I am humbled to be able to continue the great legacy of Red Cross support for our neighbors!”
 Jarvis has worked with the American Red Cross in several critical areas, including Disaster Services, Service to the Armed Forces, Information and Planning, Public Affairs and Communications, and CPR instruction. Prior to the Red Cross, Jarvis served his country for nearly 23 years as a Marine Corps officer.
