Platon Charles Theophilos of Wilmington passed away Wednesday morning, May 13, 2015 at his home.  He was 71 years old. Plato was born June 11, 1943 in Newport News, VA to the late Stavros George Theophilos and Patula Panagiotakakos (Panags) Theophilos and was preceded in death by brother George Theophilos.
He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty two years, Renee Psillas Theophilos, son, Steven Platon Theophilos, daughter-in-law and grandson, Kimberli and Nikolas, daughter, Elleni Theophilos, sister, Helen Stassinos, nieces and nephews, Steve Stassinos, Elizabeth Stassinos, Paula Theophilos Detweiler and Stephanie Theophilos Peri.
Plato graduated from the University of Baltimore Law, later working for The State of Maryland and eventually moving to Greenville, SC before making his home in Wilmington in 1994. He and his wife owned and operated Harbor Masters Restaurant in Carolina Beach, where he was able to share with his family and community his passion for food, heritage, and conversation. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. A funeral service was held 2:00pm Monday, May 18, 2015 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family received friends from 7pm until 9pm Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
