Connie “Mo” Morton, 68, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at home in Kure Beach. She died peacefully with her family nearby.
Mo leaves her husband, G. Wade Morton, Sr.; son, G. Wade Morton, Jr. and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Susan Elaine Morton; grandson, Cameron Morton and wife, Madeline; granddaughter, Katherine Morton; sister, Susan B. Williamson and husband, Lynn Ray, and their son, Randall and his wife, Annelien and grandson, Rowan; extended family, niece, Cindy and Craig Holden, niece, Rebecca Knoll, niece, Shaina and Ronnie Kennedy and children, Ayden, Avery, and Kinsley; nephew, Jon Lynn Knoll, and great-nephew, Jon Lynn, and nephew, Scott Bridges Bauer.
Mo was preceded in death by her mother, Ann E. McLean, father, Vernon Z. Bridges, sister, Ann “Sister” B. Knoll, brother, Vernon “Buzz” Bridges, Jr., and brother-in-law, Gerald Ralph Knoll.
Mo was born October 1, 1949 in Florence, SC and moved to Wrightsville Beach and the Wilmington area in 1956. She graduated from New Hanover High School in 1968 and later from Cape Fear Tech as an Operating Room Technician.  Mo and Wade moved from the area and returned, after raising their children, to settle in Kure Beach. Mo was a beloved fixture in the community and will be dearly missed.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, her family lovingly requests donations in Mo’s memory be made to online or by mail to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
