2016 Carolina Beach Youth Basketball wraps up Tournament

• 3/3/16
6-8 Age Division
- 6:30PM – Championship Game - Gibby’s Dock & Dine vs. Pop’s Diner – This was a very defensive game with Gibby’s being held scoreless in the 1st quarter, while Pop’s picked up 4. In the 2nd quarter Gibby’s defense was able to hold Pop’s scoreless while their offense gave them a 6-4 halftime lead. In the 3rd quarter Gibby’s offense picked up 5-points while their defense held Pop’s to just 1 field goal giving them a 11-6 lead. In the final quarter Gibby’s defense was again relentless holding Pop’s to just 2 free throws, while their offense added 5 more points giving them the win 16-9. HIGHLIGHTS: Gibby’s Dock & Dine: #5 Roman Smith 12 and #14 Bryson Mayo and #10 Kingston Hroncich 2-points each. Pop’s Diner: #11 Connor McPherson 7 and #5 Aliana Boos 2.

12-14 Age Division
- 7:30PM – Wilmington Lawn & Leisure vs. Michael’s Seafood – After falling behind by 7-points in the 1st half Michael’s Seafood was able to outscore Wilmington Lawn 7-3 in the 2nd quarter getting them to within 3-points by halftime 14-11. In the 3rd quarter Wilmington Lawn brought there lead to 9-points thanks to some clutch shooting on the free throw line. By the end of the quarter Wilmington Lawn connected on 8 free throws and added in 6 more points bringing the score to 28-19. In the final quarter Michael’s was able to make it a trade baskets, but couldn’t get the stops needed to cut into Wilmington Lawn’s lead. Wilmington Lawn moved to the Championship Game with the 39-29 win. HIGHLIGHTS: Wilmington Lawn & Leisure: #12 Austin Johnson 11-points, #14 Mason Massey and #5 Jas Herring 9-points each, #3 Seanan Darakjy 5, #10 Marc Fatum and #1 Trey Johnson 2-points each, and #11 Jacob Baugher 1-point. Michael’s Seafood:#3 Nathan Hardison 9, #13 Jett Tugwell 7, #11 Jack Garcia 4, #4 Dylan McGowan 3, and #1 Jacob Chalmers and #10 Lacey Hartsell 2-points each.
- 8:30PM – PC Sports vs. Allied Pest Control -  PC Sports used a 7-2 run to start this game off. However by halftime Allied Pest Control was able to cut the lead to 2-points 13-11. In the 3rd quarter PC Sports picked up the pace scoring 13-points, while their defense held Allied to a free throw giving them a 14-point lead 26-12. In the final quarter Allied was able to trade baskets, but could not cut into PC Sports double digit lead. PC Sports moved to the Championship Game with the 32-19 win. HIGHLIGHTS: PC Sports: #5 Dominic Farmintino 8, #11 Brennan Stafford 7, #1 Neil Sims & #14 Mason Johnson 6 each, #10 Jared Becken 3, & #3 Dwight Best 2. Allied Pest Control: #4 Coleman Lamendola 8, #2 John Jernigan 6, #10 Michael Stewart 3, & #3 Logan Parker 2.

9-11 Age Division
- 6:30PM – Championship Game – Mid-Atlantic Drilling vs. CBPD – After a close 10-8 1st quarter Mid-Atlantic Drilling was able to extend their lead to 23-12 by halftime. In the 3rd quarter Mid-Atlantic’s offense fueled by 13-points by Aidan Payne scored 19 total in the quarter to take a 42-16 lead going into the final quarter. In the final quarter CBPD was able to outscore Mid-Atlantic but not by enough to come back falling short 42-22. HIGHLIGHTS: Mid-Atlantic Drilling: #4 Aidan Payne 25, #14 Nate Milin 16, and #11 Joshua Jernigan 2-points each. CBPD: #13 David Corwin 7, #11 Fisher Carter, #4 Kendall Marrcucilli, and #2 Chad Fleshman 4-points each, #14 Grant Blackburn 2, and #5 Jayce Atanasoff 1.

12-14 Age Division
- 7:30PM – Championship Game – Wilmington Lawn & Leisure vs. PC Sports – After falling behind 10-8, Wilmington Lawn’s defense held PC Sports to 1-point in the 2nd quarter while their offense gave them a 4-point lead 15-11. In the 3rd quarter Wilmington Lawn continued playing tough defense forcing PC Sports to score all 5-points from the free throw line while their offense extended their lead to 23-16. In the final quarter Wilmington Lawn continued to pull away winning the Championship Game by a final score of 37-23. HIGHLIGHTS: Wilmington Lawn & Leisure: #3 Seanan Darakjy and #12 Austin Johnson each had 11-points, #14 Mason Massey 7, #5 Jas Herring 4, and #10 Marc Fatum and #11 Jacob Baugher 2-points. PC Sports: #2 Kenan Everhart 8, #1 Neil Sims and #11 Brennan Stafford 6-points each, #12 William Hamilton 2, and #5 Dominic Farmintino 1.

15-17 Age Division
- 8:30PM – Championship Game - Hamm Hearing Aids vs. Superior Medical – After taking a 5-4 lead in the 1st quarter Hamm was able to extend their lead to 20-16 by halftime. In the 3rd quarter Superior Medical was able to take over the lead 25-24 after outscoring Hamm 9-4. In the final quarter Hamm’s offense was able to pick up the pace scoring 16-points, meanwhile their offense got the stops needed for the win and the Championship Title to add to their Regular Season Title. HIGHLIGHTS: Hamm Hearing Aids: #10 Ja’Quel Sidberry 13, #3 Nash Best 11, #5 Joey Barker and #14 Isaiah Fields 6-points each, and #12 Carson Garner 3. Superior Medical: #14 Jordan Lopez and #5 Joseph Barbera 8-points each, #10 Jacob Reeves, #13 Ryan Bailey, and #2 Peyton Blankenbeckler each had 6.
