Carolina Beach Native set to fight Cancer by Running Across the US

By / Running News / الإثنين, 12 شباط/فبراير 2018 01:51

This summer Carolina Beach Native and Ashley High School graduate Brooke Greyno  will be embarking on a 4,000+ mile cross country run from San Francisco to Baltimore Maryland. She is doing this through the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adult’s 4K Cancer program. The mission is to raise awareness, unite communities, and inspire hope in the fight against cancer. They will be doing this by visiting cancer patients at hospitals and cancer centers, as well as raising awareness about UFC’s mission in towns they will be stopping in during our trek across the country. Brooke hopes to reach out to you for support on her cross country run for donations to reach her goal. Being able to support young adults affected by cancer, makes this journey more impactful than she could have imagined it to be. She will accomplish her goal of raising $4500 and depart on her run, dedicating every mile to family and loved ones who have battled cancer.  She is asking you to please pass on this story to anyone who would be interested in helping her reach her goal!
We all have been touched by cancer in some way, please feel free to read my story in the link below!
Please donate to Brooke’s cause at her online page:
https://ulman.z2systems.com/brooke-greyno
 or
She can accept offline donations in the form of a check written out to 4K for Cancer (to be mailed to the UCF office, Attn: 4K for Cancer, 1215 E Fort Ave, Ste 104, Baltimore MD, 21230.) Please be sure to include her full name in the check memo or in a separate note so the donation will be directed to the correct fundraising page. So alittle more about Brooke, her journey, and he cause:
•She is 20 years old
• running is her biggest passion so she cannot wait to use it for good!
•Carolina Beach native
•She is running for her best friends mother that died this year from stage 4 breast cancer
•The run is 49 days from June 17th to August 4th
•The Ulman Fund is a non profit cancer foundation
•None of the money she collects goes to her, it  goes all to the foundation to fund cancer treatments, chemo care bags, scholarships for young adults, a 5k get healthy program for cancer patients and so much more!!
• 20-30 other young adults will be on this journey with me where we have service days across the country to raise money and awareness
• the entire trip is by donation, so they stay at local churches, schools, ymcas that will host them. All food is by donation too so they go in as an organization and they will (hopefully) feed them ha
