Spotlight On Coastal Cuisine: Havana’s Fresh Island Restaurant’s Featured

Havana’s Restaurant in Carolina Beach is considered to be one of the best restaurants in town. With an amazing menu, excellent customer service and inviting atmosphere, it’s not hard to see why. Havana’s specializes in fresh local seafood, hand cut steaks and made from scratch pasta dishes.
Havana’s lunch menu features some delicious options, such as the Havana’s Crab Cake, which is a jumbo lump crab cake over confetti orzo; BT’s Chicken, a Romano encrusted chicken topped with a lemon caper sauce over smashed potatoes; their Fresh Catch, which changes daily and comes blackened or grilled and is served with fresh vegetables and confetti orzo; and a huge selection of different sandwiches and wraps. Some of their delectable dinner items include, Slow Roasted Prime Rib, which is served every Friday and Saturday night; Crab Stuffed Salmon, which is broiled and then stuffed with lump crab meat and topped with a lemon butter caper sauce; the Horseradish Tuna, a seared, horseradish encrusted Ahi tuna with a ginger soy and wasabi aioli; and their Lobster Seafood Bake, which features fresh lobster, scallops, shrimp and back fin crab meat, baked in lobster bisque. These are just a few of the amazing dishes you will find at Havana’s.
You will also find a large selection of enticing starters like their Hot Crab Dip for Two, P.E.I. Mussels, Steak Empanada’s and Volcano Shrimp. Havana’s clam chowder has become a local favorite, winning the last four Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-Off Competitions, from 2011 to 2014. Havana’s and Chee-ze Plea-ze have partnered up to offer local, fresh desserts from the Wilmington area. They also offer a signature dessert called the “Hot Rum Bananas Foster,” which was originally created in New Orleans in 1952 and is served up hot and fresh and made to order.  Fall time is “Local Time” so they fill their days at Havana's with great specials.  Every Wednesday is $5.00 Wine Night, by the glass, Thursday is $5.00 appetizers at the Bar and of course, Friday and Saturday night is Prime Rib Night!
Havana’s Restaurant is owned and operated by Pete Donat. Havana’s is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for lunch and dinner. Hours of operation are 11:30am to 10:00pm, Monday through Thursday, 11:30am to 11:00pm Friday and Saturday and Sunday brunch is from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
