“We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible
 situations.”  – Charles R. Swindoll

Have you seen the open road in front of our store?  Have you seen the beautiful boardwalk completed for all to enjoy?  Have you been to the Carolina Beach Business District this week and noticed the awesome work being completed by the town?  They are not quite finished with the huge undertaking of redoing the  town’s infrastructure but the road in front of our store is DRIVABLE!!!!
For almost four months the ‘chi’ has been blocked coming into Artful Living Group.  Jeremy has a saying on the wall at Carolina Beach Community  Acupuncture that reads, “Bu tong ze tong, tong ze bu tong.”  Translated it means, ”Where there is pain, there is no free flow, and where there is free flow, there is no pain.”  The flow has been blocked to get to our store and it has been very painful.
For any who know my partner Christine Higgins, you know she is energetically a supremely positive person.  Of course, the months of low sales could take a toll on even the most jovial of natures but I remembered something my daughter Annabel said to me when Peter was in Iraq.  “Mom, worry is not how we show love.”  Instead of agonizing over the loss of revenue Chris and I are believing that sales will turn around and the improvements to our neighborhood will help make up for our losses.  I am asking you to come into our store and buy your next gift for someone you love, art for your home or at least see the array of merchandise made with love by about 280 different artists.
Saturday proved to be encouraging.  With Britt’s Donuts opened and visitors coming back, customers found their way back into our space……and they LOVED it!!
Our featured artist for the month of April is the lovable Candy Pegram.  We also kept David Norris’ work for display since few could get in during the month of March.  The work of this talented artist needs to be enjoyed by all.  We are back in the ordering mode and receiving new things daily.
Chris will be heard busily working in her studio, Susie Linquist Photography can bring her clients in effortlessly, and aromas will be wafting throughout the store as the Glynne Soap gals are creating soaps in their studio.  I will be meeting with clients per appointment and receiving new outdoor rug samples, Sunbrella samples and other fun ‘healthy, happy sources for your home.’
Please stop in 10:30-5 Tuesday-Saturday or 12:00-5:00 on Sunday.  Meet Claudia, Jillian or Raffa and help us change an impossible situation into a great opportunity providing success for all our artists. We are open and the ‘chi’ is flowing freely.  xo mo
