I can hardly believe I inserted the next-to-last month on my Abacus Calendar for this year.  My new Planner Pad has arrived and I am already filling in ‘Save the Dates’ for weddings 2016.’  It gets dark early now and we all ask, “Where has the year gone?” Some of us had amazing years.  Some experienced heartaches.  Are we healthier?  Are we happier?  What will our lives look like one year from now?
Artful Living Group is already gearing up for the holiday season.  The galleries are set for the holidays with AMAZING fine art and crafts from our local artists.  The First Thursday Gallery Reception is themed “Prepare for a Healthy Holiday”  and will be held on November 5th from 6:30-8:30 and to help YOU with the stress of this season, we have invited three local wellness professionals to show you how to prepare for a Healthy Holiday……and did I mention DOOR PRIZES?
Enjoy a mini chair massage by Island Massage and Spa by Katrina Rogers.  “Massage and body treatments are our specialty,” her website boasts, “your experience is our priority, and getting you there...it's our passion.
Whether you have aches and pains, or just need to de-stress, we are Carolina Beach's Relaxation Destination! Our Beach Boutique Spa offers a unique and memorable experience, and probably unlike any massage spa you've visited. You will not find a stuffy, dark, gloomy massage room here, and we wouldn't have it any other way. You’re at the beach, you’re on Island Time, and as the locals say, ‘This isn't the Mainland!’ We offer a casual beach vibe, with great energy, that allows you to drift away to another world as you take in our
open air Spa experience. Massage & Spa services are offered in Massage Cabanas, relaxing music fills the spa, organic essential oils awaken your senses & warm towels melt away the stress at your feet.”
Talk with Jeremy Linquist about the benefits of acupuncture, Chinese herbs and nutritional eating. Carolina Beach Community Acupuncture uses herbs and acupuncture, cupping and nutrition to achieve optimal health.
Their herbs are prescription strength and in most cases can replace prescriptions or dramatically lower doses and side effects.
Linquist says, “Acupuncture 2-4 times a month can improve health and wellbeing, saving a lot of money on unnecessary trips to the doctor, lost time at work and medications (over-the-counter and prescribed.)”
Amy Sawyer from Island Wellness Market will share tasty treats and health products for your home.  The mission of her business is clearly defined in 4 goals.  “Our goals are to 1) Provide customers with high quality vitamins, herbs, and nutritional supplements, 2) Provide all natural and cruelty-free health and beauty products, 3) Offer non-GMO foods and foods without artificial colors, flavors, additives or preservatives and 4) Carry a wide range of gluten-free and vegan dry goods and snacks and support organic farms that keep our earth and water pure.
The holiday season will be here soon.  Join us on Thursday evening to meet this team of local professionals who want to help you de-stress, keep your immunity at its peak and learn to make wise choices for health that could help you turn 2016 in your healthiest and happiest ever. xo mo
