“This is my wish for you: peace of mind, prosperity through the year, happiness that multiplies, health for you and yours, fun around every corner, energy to chase your dreams, joy to fill your holidays!”     ~D.M. Dellinger

Our son Jeremy, founder of Carolina Beach Community Acupuncture, wrote a letter to his patients and I thought I should reprint it as my gift to you.  Chinese Medicine encompasses more than needling with acupuncture.  Jeremy’s medical training encourages him to not simply eliminate symptoms, but to address the root of the problem that is causing distress.  He also has been trained in techniques to avoid potential disasters using nutrition and pharmaceutical grade herbs.  He has created a formula which eliminates hangover symptoms with a little bit of prevention as it cleanses the liver.  It should be used by anyone consuming alcohol whether to excess or not.  I can personally attest to the effectiveness of this product (need I mention mohitos at the Tiki Bar?) The $5 pack is well worth the cost and can be purchased at CBCA, Island Wellness Market and the most hip bars in the area.  This is the perfect stocking stuffer for your 21 and older kids.  Buy a case.  I promise you, they will be appreciated.
From Jeremy, “It's the Holiday Season!!!!  As I sat down this past weekend to give thanks and gratitude for my life and all that comes with it, I reflected on the little things that I love about my job. This time of year is a wonderful reminder of what I have and what I am able to give to others.  The beauty of my job and Chinese Medicine in general is that I have the ability to help others in a multitude of ways.  I work with simple holiday stress reduction to the more intense anxiety associated with the money and family elements of the season.  I also work with digestive issues, alcohol consumption, and general emotional disorders.  Colds and flus, pain and general well being are also part of the job but this time of year I notice a focus on emotions and digestion.
With this being such an intense time of year I wish to take a second and help all my patients survive the season.  To do this it only takes a simple reminder to do 4 simple things.
1) Breathe.   Yes, it's simple and yet so difficult.  Deep belly breathing is integral in lowering the heart rate, blood pressure and calming the spirit.  It keeps us in a relaxed state and sometimes gets forgotten in our daily hustle and bustle.
2) Drink Water.   We consume so many different foods and drinks over the holiday season that we sometimes forget to drink our water.   A recommended amount on a regular day is half your body weight in ounces of water.  A150 lb  person should drink 75 oz water daily.  Don't forget to increase your water intake for increased alcohol, caffeine, sugar and salty foods.
3)  Take your herbs.    Many of you hear me talk about "curing pills".   These are my favorite holiday pills and such a great supplement to your digestion over the holiday season.   Curing pills can be purchased at my clinic or through our online store:  In our store you will also find Dr. Awesome Hangover Formula which is a must have for any holiday party, work party or just to have around the house.
4) Last but not Least,   GET YOUR ACUPUNCTURE!!!!.  It is essential that we take care of ourselves and keeping up with your acupuncture is a vital part of keeping your body in a relaxed mode.  Don't forget,  we also sell gift certificates so give everybody the gift of health this year.
