“God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me.”

Good news!  I’m not going to bore you this year with the traditional NYE ‘what are your resolutions for the New Year’ (or first week of January 2016.)  Last year the top 10 resolutions were 1) Lose Weight, 2) Getting Organized, 3) Spend Less, Save More, 4) Enjoy Life to the Fullest, 5) Staying Fit and Healthy, 6) Learn Something Exciting, 7) Quit Smoking, 8) Help Others in Their Dreams, 9) Fall in Love, 10) Spend More Time with Family.
According to the University of Scranton, Journal of Clinical Psychology, 45% percent of Americans usually make New Year's Resolutions, however only 8% percent of people are successful in achieving their resolution.  So why bother?
Apparently, one reason to give resolutions credence is because people who explicitly make resolutions are 10 times more likely to attain their goals than people who don't explicitly make resolutions (even with the only 8% success rates!!)  If you don’t know where you are going, how do you know when you have arrived?
When I am working with my feng shui clients, it is necessary for the client to tell me three things in their lives they want to change. Historically they will unlock their hearts and souls to resolve issues dealing with self improvement, health, wealth or relationships.  The principles of interior design are the tool we use to support those changes. The above research showed that the top resolutions for change were self improvement or education related, weight related, money related, and relationship related.  Hmmm, that sounds familiar.
My suggestion to you is to forego the New Year’s Resolutions for 2016 and work with a feng shui professional to bring you closer to actualizing your goals.  My success rate is better than 8%, I would hope.  It will last longer than 1 week
(75% of first week NYE resolutions drop to 46% in the first 6 months.)
The most effective tool for change is not good intentions but begins with simply changing patterns.  Feng shui sets the positive encouragement to redesign lives.  Ellen Glasgow once said that, “The only difference between a rut and a grave is the dimensions.”  Feng shui can help you not only make the changes, but will subconsciously remind you that you ‘want’ to make the changes.  xo mo
