“The power of community to create health is far greater than any physician, clinic or hospital.” ~Mark Hyman

2016 is the year to raise consciousness regarding the world around us, starting with our island and the community wherein we live.  We are all connected.  What you do effects me and vice versa.
It is no small accomplishment that a small group of women came together in 2006 prompted by Caroline Meeks, to “make life better” on Pleasure Island.
That group has grown to over 200 members and is known as The Island Women Organization.  Many improvements by this group of hard working women can be seen and much more may be unseen.
To be sure, our community has been improved because of the generosity of this group of volunteers.
The men noticed and followed suit.  The Island Men stepped up to the plate and have graciously worked to improve life here for our residents, businesses and visitors. It pays for us to work together as a community.
One person CAN make a difference as he/she joins hands with another and another and another.  I am suggesting for you to look at one issue in your daily life today - your cleaning products.  The common products sold in stores for cleaning your home and laundry may contain harmful ingredients like bleach, ammonia and phosphates which wreck havoc on our environment as they make their way into our waterways.
Almost ten years ago I discovered a company called Melaleuca - The Wellness Company, that uses natural ingredients like thyme oil to disinfect surfaces, citric acid to remove hard water stains, enzymes to clean dishes, and surfactants to gently release tough stains from laundry.
Not only are these products effective at cleaning and removing stains, bacteria and viruses, because they are sold in a concentrated form, they have save 166 million pounds of plastic from going into the landfill, saved 34 million gallons of fuel and 37 million pounds of harmful gas emissions transporting products since 1985.
One lucky customer will win an EcoSense® Safer forYour Home Pack including 18 amazing, ecologically and economically sensible cleaner that can clean your home top to bottom, wash your laundry inside and out, and save you money as well.  Products sold individually would cost $143.00 through Melaleuca and almost $200 for national brands sold at WallMart and other grocery store.
For every $25 you spend at Artful Living Group during the month of January, you will be entered to win and Eco Sense® safer for your home pack. On Saturday, January 30th from 11:00am - 12:30 pm Mo will be introducing this line of cleaning products.  Reservations are required.  Call Artful Living Group to register to attend at 910-458-7822 or call Mo at her number below.  Together we have the power to create a healthier, happier island.  xo mo
