I’m writing this week’s article with my feet elevated, after a full day at High Point Market where I logged over 10,600 steps and that was for only half a day!!
Market comes around twice a year in the Spring and Fall.  The whole town of High Point becomes infiltrated with more than 75,000 attendees, 10% of which are international.  180 buildings supply 11.5 million square feet of show space with more than 2,000 exhibitors, representing more than 100 countries.  Tens of thousands of new products are introduced each season.  They say if you can’t find it in High Point….it probably doesn’t exist.
Three fantastic products I found, will work perfectly in anyone’s beach home.
Made in central Pennsylvania, Spicher and Company produces a myriad of wonderful designs printed on durable, certified non-slip, lay flat vinyl flooring. It seems like the perfect solution for a house with hardwood or tile floors to warm it up, color it up and bring in design without the wear and tear on a rug. Sizes range from 20” x 30” to 120” x 120” in rectangles, squares and rounds.  Custom sizes and patterns  are also available for an up-charge.  The patterns are vintage and classic, colorful or neutral and may be used indoors as well as outdoors.
Since we are progressing in building our new house, I also had to stop at the Haiku Home display by Big Ass Solutions.  These fans are amazing.  Some of the features that make these fans different than the kind we have used for the last 100 years, are Motion Sensing, Whoosh Mode, Sleep Mode, and Schedule your Fan, to name a few.  Built-in motion sensors save energy by turning your fans and lights on automatically when you enter the room and off when you leave – no switches necessary.   Whoosh® Mode mimics cooling natural breezes by varying fan speed.  No more waking up too hot or too cold. Choose your ideal sleep temperature and Sleep Mode will automatically adjust your fan’s speed to keep you feeling comfortable throughout the night. Program your fans and lights to suit your schedule using the Haiku Home app. You can set your lights to come on at dusk or turn on and off while you’re on vacation to make your home look occupied. To top it off, their sleek design and finishes look amazing and the upgraded models can be customized to any color. It is no wonder their website quotes, “Form Follows Function.”  Of course, the lights are LED’s.
The third fabulous find today was at Thibaut (pronounced TEA-BOW.)  The new designer Sunbrella fabrics are colorfully designed with TURTLES, geometrics, and solids with textures.
The books will be arriving at my studio soon.  I also was introduced to their line of Crypton Home fabrics which combine performance attributes with sumptuous color and soft feel. Created for family-friendly living, Crypton Home is designed to meet or exceed heavy-duty requirements in every performance category.
Any home with children, pets or ladies drinking red wine need to consider Crypton.
Creating spaces that solve my problems and the problems of my clients gives me joy.  If you need a solution let me help you turn your ho-hum to AHA!!  xo mo
