“Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones you accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you you no matter what.” ~anonymous

When Randy and I moved to KBNC 12 years ago, we did not know a single person living in this area.  We moved here to have an adventure, live on the beach as empty nesters and experience living together, just the two of us, which we had not done in all our years as a married couple.
What we found was amazing.  The people with whom we came in contact, especially neighbors, friends and acquaintances became like family.  We felt the warmth of the people living on this island wrapping their arms around us and including us in their activities.
To say ‘thank you’ at this time of year, it may be tradition to give a little gift of appreciation.  Since I moved my studio to Carolina Beach Furniture I have found that this is the perfect place to find those gifts that may cost $50, $40, $30, $20 and even $10.
If you area looking for a teacher gift, the only place to find a Tervis Tumbler with KB or CB monogramed on it in the $16-$26 range, is in this store.  They carry exciting looking
bags by Buckhead Betty at 50% off, pricing them between $14 - $29.
Recently they added more LOCAL ART to the walls including Jillian Boivin, Jan Feury, Robbie Johnson, and Felice Kite, all of whom feel like family to me.  Custom made wood pieces can be ordered from a local woodworker if you want a special size or finish for that table, bookcase or entertainment center.
Carol has also added ‘Fishbone Designs’ to her inventory. Chris Higgins’ beautiful silver earrings, necklaces and bracelets are showcased and would make the perfect gift for that special person.
If you are looking to spruce up your home for the holidays, you will find manufacturers that are American Made like Vaughn-Bassett made in Virginia.  This is the only local furniture showroom that specializes in the “beach look” with styles and fabrics.  Of course, if you do not see what you want or need on the floor, everything can be ordered exactly to your liking and takes 4-6 weeks to come in.
One of my clients mentioned that the prices may be high but I assured her, since I take my clients to all furniture stores in town and online, apples to apples Carolina Beach Furniture has the BEST everyday pricing.  They do not mark the prices up to mark them down.  Don’t be deceived by tricky marketing gimmicks.  When my clients allow me to source their products, I find the best places for prices, timing and selection.
Don’t forget to stop by my studio to see my new selection of Vintage Floor coverings which I brought back from High Point Market this fall.  They sell for $49.99 and EVERY mother would love to have one at her kitchen sink.
Stop in and ask Karen, Joyce or Carol to help you with your selections.  Your loved ones will appreciate your thoughtfulness when you share this love.  xo mo
