"The past is our definition.  We may strive with good reason to escape it, or to escape what is bad in it. But we will escape it only by adding something better to it." ~ Wendell Berry

Descendants. Legacy. 7. What will YOU leave to this world. The seventh area in our walk around the bagua examines beliefs and actions around creativity. You may have produced children.  You may have produced artwork.  You may have produced a business that has become a living legacy and will be around long after you have gone.    As you stand in the doorway of the room, turn your head to the right and look at the middle section of the room backed by the right wall.  This is the area of the room that speaks to Descendants.  Your baby.
You look to the left and that was Ancestors, those who came before.  You look to the right and you have Descendants, those who follow on the time lime.
Have I mentioned fun before?  Fun and joy is an integral part of creating. Our bodies and minds move into creative mode and we are rewarded with a feel-good explosion of bodily sensations.  Our children and grandchildren give us endless supply of laughter with their innocent take, making new discoveries in this world.  This area is also represented by the metal element, a circle with the feeling of letting go. What goes around, comes around.  By the time we enter this state in life, we have refined our actions, matured with wisdom and balanced inner control without having to impose control on those around us…..letting go.
What do you have in this area of your room?  Read the space. In our private space we have place our beautifully framed giclee, ‘The Nymphaeum’ by William-Adolphe  Bouguereau.  “These nymphs, I would make them endure. Their delicate flesh-tint so clear, it hovers yet upon the air heavy with foliage of sleep.” This poem by Stéphane Mallarmé, a French poet and critic and a major French symbolist poet, gives a clue as to our feng shui psyche.
Let go. Accept. Be at peace.  How will your creativity be remembered?  xo mo
