Girl Scouts Prepare for World Thinking Day

By / Life on the Island / Wednesday, 11 February 2015 05:00

Last week Girl Scout Troops 867 and 901 spent their regular meeting researching for the upcoming World Thinking Day. Each year on February 22nd Girl Scouts around the world celebrate World Thinking Day, this is a time when they learn about other parts of the world and issues facing women in those areas. Local troops choose a country and then together share the information they learned about their selected area with other Girl Scouts through a decorated booth. This year Troops 867 and 901 chose Trinidad and with the help of local Kure Beach resident, Jason Gatt learned about all the customs, traditions, sights, sounds and of course food associated with the area. Special thanks to Jason who was born in raised in Trinidad for sharing his extensive knowledge!
