Butterflies Take Off Soon

Kure Beach, NC – The Butterfly Bungalow at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher will soon close. Guests can visit the hundreds of free-flying exotic butterflies only through September including Labor Day weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors to the Butterfly Bungalow encounter species from around the world and guests gain a better understanding of the importance of butterflies and other insect pollinators. Tickets for the exhibit are $3, general Aquarium admission is additional.
During the holiday weekend, guests to the Aquarium also can experience daily animal feedings, live animal encounters and dive presentations, at 10:30 and 2:30 free with Aquarium admission. Paid activities include behind-the-scenes tours, canoe trips and Aquarist Apprentice. Pre-registration is required for paid programs and can be made by visiting ncaquariums.com/fort-fisher.
