Girl Scouts help with Meals on Wheels

By / Life on the Island / Tuesday, 16 February 2016 05:00

This past Friday six Girl Scouts from Troop 867 spent their Friday evening in the kitchen of Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church (CBPC) helping those in need.
As a part of their continuing service project, volunteers prepared twenty-four salads and baked forty-eight fresh Valentine's cupcakes for meals on wheels. They also completed several knot blankets with the church’s children ministry in memory of Ms Mary Cochran and created Valentine's Day greetings for local seniors.
CBPC Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers approximately 30 meals to people on the island and across the bridge. While they depend on a core group each month, there is always a need for the help of other congregation members who wish to be involved on an as-needed basis, e.g., providing a side dish to complement the main entrée, providing homemade bread, providing transportation to deliver the meals, etc. Feel free to call (910) 458-5417 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
