St. Paul’s Episcopal Introduces After School Choir Program

WILMINGTON – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is pleased to announce an after school choir program for boys and girls directed by Ronnie Wise. Those who are  interested in learning more can attend an Open House on either Monday, September 12 from 6-7 p.m. or Saturday, September 17 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Paul’s  Episcopal Church located at 16 N 16th Street in Wilmington. To RSVP for the Open House, please visit www.spechurch.com/music and click on the St. Paul’s  Choir School tab.
From its founding in 1858, St. Paul’s has had a strong impact with the children in the community, more specifically, children who sing. This is a unique after-school program, and the only choir school of its kind in the city or the diocese, offering children who are interested in singing the opportunity to earn a stipend for their accomplishments.
The choir school is for boys age nine through voice change, and girls age nine through eighth grade. Participants will experience performance opportunities, receive music lessons on an instrument of their choir through the UNCW Community Music Academy, participate in professional voice lessons, and earn a stipend for singing based on experience and ability, all at little to no cost to parents.
The St. Paul’s Choir School is not affiliated with the Wilmington Boys Choir (WBC), or Girls’ Choir of Wilmington, however, boys are expected to participate in the WBC for admittance into the Choir School. Although the Choir School is open to the community, it is solely a resident choir of St. Paul’s, and will perform once each month as part of the church service.
Rehearsals for Choir School will be as follows: Girls: Mondays, 5:15 – 6:15 PM, every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:30 PM.
Boys: Tuesday, 5:15 – 6:00 PM, every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:30 PM.
Ronnie Wise is the Music Director for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Wilmington Boys Choir. Prior to moving to Wilmington, he served as Director of Worship and the Arts and Principal Organist at Boone United Methodist Church in Boone, NC. He studied at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and the Juilliard School in NYC.

FAITH makes all things possible.
LOVE makes all things easy.
HOPE makes all things work.
Never heard of a “Vineyard” church? We are one of about 1500 churches worldwide. Carolina Coast was started in June, 2012 in a living room. We are located in the Pavilion, at the foot of Snows Cut bridge.
We are a very friendly faith community who really believe in providing a “no judgment” zone, accepting each other just as we are, and together, growing in our Christian faith through worship, studying the Scripture and serving others.
What to expect? A casual style service with contemporary worship, a relevant Scripture based message and a sense of community.
Happenings at CCVC during the week:
Mondays: Holy Yoga 6-7pm ($7 walk-in, multiple class discount available)
Thursday mornings: beginning October 6th  GriefShare class 10-noon,  ($15 for workbook) Each week will focus on a different aspect of the Grief process and is designed to help us know that what we are feeling is normal and that you do not have to go through it alone.

Beer and Hymns:   This fun event is held monthly at Good Hops Brewing on the corner of Harper Avenue and Dow Road, is open to everyone, and lasts about an hour.  This month we will be meeting on Sunday, August 21, at 6:00 p.m.
