FT. Fisher 2325 hostesses for Open House

Fort Fisher #2325 Chapter of The United Daughters of the Confederacy were Hostesses at the annual Friends of Fort Fisher Open House at the historic site. Special guest was the North Carolina UDC Division President, Mrs. John Gasson. Assisting with refreshments were Mrs. Mary Cobb Woodward of the Chapter and Chairman of the North Carolina Division Fort Fisher Committee along with a Committee member, Mrs. Dale Spencer, and Mrs. Patricia G. W. Bolander, President of the Chapter.  The Murray Middle School Jazz Band provided their special music in the morning, followed by the "Masonboro Parlor" group. Ending the festive occasion was the noted historic interpreter and Southern music maestro and recipient of the UDC Sidney Lanier Medal, John Golden. The event closed with a drawing for an 1842 Springfied musket, won by a local man.
