Carolina Beach Inlet Association To Hold 1st Annual Chowder Cook-off

CAROLINA BEACH - The Carolina Beach Inlet Association will hold it's first annual Chowder Cook-off at the High Tide Lounge above the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier on Carolina Beach Avenue North Saturday January 17th, at 12 noon until.
The Inlet Association's goal is to educate the public, and elected officials on the importance of keeping North Carolina's shallow draft inlets dredged for safe navigation.
There will be a $10 Chowder Tasting Passport to sample chowder from the area's finest cooks. There will be entertainment and prize giveaways during the event. All proceeds will go to benefit the Carolina Beach Inlet Association.
Cooks are encouraged to enter. Items to have: A warmer (Crock-Pot), or sterno, ladles, chowder and any sides. Spoons, napkins, bowls, 2oz. taster cups will be supplied. All entries must be set up by 11:30am. Judging will start at 12:30. There will be door prize giveaways, 50/50 cash drawing, and an auction.
