New Watercolor Class begins September 23rd

Attention budding artists – the next 2-week session of watercolor painting classes will begin on Wednesday, the 23rd of September at the Kure Beach Community Center. These classes are taught by Kure Beach’s own award-winning International artist Ken Withrow. Classes run from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm and the cost to participate is $30 per person. Registration forms can be found on our website,, or at Town Hall. Bring your completed registration form along with payment to the first class. Island Day Sunday, September 27th in Kure Beach

The 6th Annual Island Day celebration is at Ocean Front Park in Kure Beach on Sunday, September 27th from 1-5 pm and you don’t want to miss it! The David Dixon and Rebekah Todd Duo will kick off the day on stage, followed by Roots United and JackJack 180. There will be laser tag on the beach, as well as pony rides from 2-4 pm. A bounce house, fairytale characters, chair massages, cake walk, photo booth, disc golf, corn hole, and a variety of other hands-on activities and educational opportunities will also be available. Bring a cooler with sandwiches and snacks, or grab a hot dog, chips, and soda from the Carolina and Kure Beach Fire Departments.
Sit on your blankets, relax and enjoy the music, activities, and time with friends and neighbors. Parking for the event will be available along 6th Avenue, I Street, and Joe Eakes Park. A trolley service will be provided free of charge to get visitors to and from Ocean Front Park and these parking locations.

Yoga at the Community Center

Carla Ann Drummond Yoga is offering a weekly all levels yoga class at the Kure Beach Community Center Thursdays at 8:30 am starting September 3rd. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend, as modifications will be provided for building a safe and satisfying practice. The cost is $8 per class - no preregistration is required. (Non-residents are welcome and there is no daily guest fee.) Students should bring a yoga mat, beach towel, and water bottle. KB Accepting Applications for Holiday Market Vendor Space

The Kure Beach Holiday Market will return this year on the Saturday before and after Thanksgiving – November 21st and November 28th – from 9 am until 3 pm. Vendor space within this market is limited and will be juried to ensure product variety and hands-on involvement in the creation of products. Vendor applications will be accepted until Sept 30 and vendors will be notified by October 9th of their status. Catch your Kure Beach Bluefish

Kure Beach has commemorative opportunities on the boardwalk in the shape of a Bluefish. Each fish allows up to three lines of print.
For $220, you can make a memory on the boardwalk for loved ones, celebrate an event or advertise your business. To get your Bluefish call Town Hall at 910-458-8216 or print your order form from the Town’s website at

Ocean Front Park: 105 Atlantic Ave

• Sunday – Boogie in the Park: 5-7 pm on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of May through October. Bring your beach chair or blanket for a free concert in the park.
• Monday – Sunrise Ocean Flow Yoga with Tamara Cairns: 7:30-8:30 am (5/4-9/28). $10 per person per class, yoga mat provided (up to 10).
• Wednesday – Hoop Dance Jam: 7-9 pm. Bring your own hoop and drop in for $3 or purchase a handmade beginner hoop for $35. All are welcome, no experience needed.

• Tuesday/Thursday – Kure Beach Aikido: Children’s class is 6-7 pm; Adult’s class is 7-9 pm. To register call (919) 818-3046
