Rose M. Cole, of Carolina Beach, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Wilmington, August 23 1934 the daughter of the late Arthur Farrow and Effie George Farrow.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Madeline Lynn Cole, a brother Arthur Farrow Jr, and sisters Lois Hardin and Agnes Vincent.
Rose was born and raised in the Masonboro Sound area.  She had worked as a volunteer at the polls for many years in Carolina Beach.  She retired from Goldsboro Pediatrics and then worked at the Children’s Clinic in Wilmington.
Rose enjoyed golfing, bowling, and loved to dance especially the Shag.  She was happiest when the family gathered at the pool and taking long walks to the Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Robert Cecil Cole, Sr., her daughter Adrienne Cole Kratzer and husband Carroll of Raleigh, NC, son Robert Cecil Cole, Jr and wife Susan of Carolina Beach, eight grandchildren, Jennifer Peake, Amanda Greene, Kathryn Kratzer, Cole Kratzer, Brittany Vangritis, Chelsea Cole, bobby Benson and James Benson; also 7 great grandchildren, a sister Ann Strom, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, March 12, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM at Andrews Valley Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday at Andrews Valley Chapel.
Burial services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Lower Cape Fear Hospice as well as special caregivers, Kathy, Willi and Cindy.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or St. Judes.
