Thank You From Island Arts and Culture Alliance

Dear Editor,
The Island Arts and Culture Alliance would like to thank Pleasure Island Rentals for its support of two tents and Majik Bean for providing morning coffee at the Eighth Annual Carolina Beach Arts Festival held on the 5th of May.
These two businesses have supported the festival since we began the event! We also want to thank the Island Women organization for providing numerous volunteers, many of whom stayed the entire day assisting wherever needed.
The event would not have been possible without these dedicated women! Our street performers all donated their time and talent, so a big shout out to Beaches and Boots, Island Zumba, Jessica Jade the Mermaid and Eric Keely (the Guitar Guy)!
The Island Cultural Alliance was formed to enable the Carolina Beach Street Arts Festival to continue and to grow.
The town of Carolina Beach believed in our vision and provided seed money about five years ago.
We believed the event could become self sustaining in a year, and we are proud to say that it has! Not only has the organization become self-funded, we are now able to award grants to support the arts in our community. Last year we provided funds to Carolina Beach Elementary School to enhance its art program. In addition we provided a grant to Dreams of Wilmington to bring its award-winning arts program to families in need on our Island. This program will begin in September. The Island Arts and Culture Alliance is a nonprofit group made up of local volunteers who have the shared vision of raising awareness of our Island’s rich arts and culture, and of supporting local artists. If you are interested in joining our organization please contact Chris Higgins at  chris@fishbonedesigns.us.
Sincerely, Island Arts and Culture Alliance
