This week was a let down for sure. Low temperatures, wind, rain, ice, and snow. I’d have to say thats a lot of variables to contend with as a fisherman. With most people hunkered down waiting for the weather to pass, I doubt many made it out on the water. I would like to, as anyone reading this, to keep our speckled trout fishery in your prayers for a little while. I did hear reports of a few trout seen floating dead from the icy cold water temperatures. We hope most of them found some deeper/warmer water to protect themselves in. There are some redfish and trout to be caught, they are just so lethargic they can barely put up a fight as you reel them in. The upcoming weather forecast looks slightly better. Lets keep our fingers crossed for warm sunny days to bring the water temperature up in a continuous pattern. If you get a decent day this week, get out there on the water and enjoy yourself. Remember, be safe!
