Things remained relatively stable this week. We can officially say that the summer is in full swing, at least from a fishing stand point. There is plenty of live bait out there to be caught and most species are willing to bite if the opportunity is presented. There was not much talk this week from the surf fishermen. Things must be a little slow from the surf, but don’t let that keep you from trying. Everyday is another opportunity and things can change in a hurry in the ocean.
Fishing from the Carolina Beach pier on the northern end of canal drive or from the Kure Beach pier will both present opportunity for a good catch. If you don’t have access to a boat or don’t want to charter one for the day the pier’s can always make for an interesting day.
This week coming up the largest fishing tournament in the state is being held out of Morehead City. The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.
We have several local boats and crew participating this year so keep track of the tournament as it last’s all week.
Good luck to the captains and crew that are trying their luck this year.
There are plenty of fish out there to target, so my suggestion this week is to get out there and FISH! Remember to be safe and have a good time.
