The Cape Fear Sail & Power Squadron will present its comprehensive introductory boating course on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Cape Fear Community College. This National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) approved and USCG recognized course is presented on a single Saturday from 8:00AM-5:00PM. This class satisfies the North Carolina safe boating education requirement for anyone born after January 1, 1988. In addition to classroom instruction, we go one step further and in partnership with Wilmington Water Tours, we take you “On The Water” for a 4-hour teaching cruise on Sunday, February 28th. Utilizing a fully enclosed and bathroom-equipped vessel, we tell you about the challenges and complexities of boating on the Cape Fear waterways, including the river, ocean and Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. This teaching cruise is exclusive to our course and the students love it. Total cost is $80 per person or two family members can share the textbook at a discounted price of $130.
