Another week of great weather and warm temperature’s have done nothing but make the fishing continue to improve. We did have a little cold front push in over the past weekend that brought cooler air and a little bit of rain but it didn’t stick around for long. I spoke with multiple anglers that made it out this past week and had plenty of success to report on. I know of a few people making their way down to the river mouth to try their luck with the whiting. It is still not great fishing but there are already some here to be had. This next week should prove to be better as well as for week’s to come. The redfish are really starting to heat up with the warming water temperature’s. These fish can be found feeding on big flats in the river as well as in the waterway. They are still feeding on baits with a slower approach but don’t be afraid to throw a top water plug at them as the week’s keep passing. There was rumor of some larger sized speckled trout making their way into angler’s landing nets this past week. I even heard of a handful of trout in the 23”-26” range. From this point on moving into the summer season the fishing should just continue to get better. Every week there will be more and more specie’s of fish showing up. Good luck to everyone over the next week. I hope to see some of you on the water!
