Cross Country Teams had 2 Meets this Week

The Screaming Eagles Cross Country Team had a busy week. On top of the training the Eagles put in this week they also had 2 Meets this week and will have 2 more next week. This Week the Eagles traveled to Northeast Creek Park in Jacksonville to compete against: Host Team White Oak, Hoggard, Laney, New Hanover, Topsail, West Carteret, and Jacksonville.
The Eagles Girls were 1st team and the team was lead by Julia Boudreau who set a Season Best with a time of 21:35 which got her 5th Place. The Rest of the Ladies times were: Madison Marriccini 23:46, Ryleigh McIntyre 23:58, Mary Andrews 24:14, Zara Bryant 25:18, Abigail Efting 25:38, Erin Hager 26:07, Peyton Dunker 27:00, Madison Smith 27:12, Maggie Skelton 27:33, Catie Condon 27:47, Keeli Breese 28:17, Loring Penna-Welch 28:44, and Dannielle Marks 30:47.
In the Boys race the Eagles were lead by Dakota Spruley who took 11th with a 17:41. He was followed by: Cody Benton 19:18, Thomas Avery 19:32, Adam Ortega 20:13, James Avery 20:41, Robert Gritzet 21:47, Leagan Butler 22:17, Hunter Graham 22:17, Nathan Ovall 22:44, Christopher Gomez 23:14,  RJ Hunt 23:28, Marley Von Cannon 23:33, Hunter Smith 23:46, Harris Hord 23:58, Sam Hagestram 24:10, Gage Bresee 26:08, Nash Best 26:28, Danny Wike 26:29, Jacob Lee 26:34, Nick Martin 26:40, Robbie Scanline 28:20, Jacob Sawyer 35:30, Jiar Redmond 38:00.
On Saturday the Eagles also participated in the UNCW Seahawk Invitational. First up for the Eagles was the Boys Varsity Team who were able to take 3rd Place in there race after Cody Benton lead them to the Finish Line. Cody finished with a time of 17:54 and took 4th Place. Dakota Spruley was not far off with a 18:15 taking 5th Place. Thomas Avery was 28th with a 19:35, twin brother James Avery had a 20:53, freshman Keagan Butler 20:57, Adam Ortega 21:09, and Robert Gritzer 22:52.
The Girls Varsity Team also had a good finish taking 4th as a team in there race. The Ladies were lead by Ryleigh McIntyre who took a medal with her 15th Place finish 24:28, her teammate Madison Marraccini was right behind her with a 24:30. The rest of the Lady Eagles were close behind: Erin Hager 23rd 25:11, Mary Andrews 22nd 25:14, Abigail Efting 27th 26:06, Zara Bryant 30th 26:27 and Madison Smith 34th 27:26.
The remaining Eagles ran in the Developmental Race and were lead by Marley Von Cannon with a 21:42. The rest of the Eagles times were: CJ Tyson 21:48, George Malahias 22:12, Nash Best 22:18, Chris Gomez 22:24, RJ Hunt 22:27, Sam Hagestram 22:55, Steven Smith 22:58, Nathan Ovall 23:04, Daniel Wike 23:31, Harris Hord 24:09, Nick Young 25:00, Gage Bresee 25:03, Jacob Lee 25:27, Jacob Sawyer 31:29, Cameron Harris 35:27, and Alex Signorello 38:39.
The Lady Eagles were lead in the Developmental Race by sophomore Kendall Hunt, who battled her way to 1st Place with the fastest time for the Ladies on the day 24:23. Teammate Brianna Reynolds was 17th with a 28:07, Keeli Bresee 30:10, Danielle Mark 31:19, Amanda McIntyre 31:41, and Madeline Taylor 40:12. The Eagles will be busy again this week with a 3 School Meet at Popular Grove on Thursday and the Pirate Invitational in Greenville on Saturday.
