Eagles and Wild Cats battle it out this Friday Night for 1st Place in MEC

Coach Turner continues to show the improvement that his Coaching Staff and Team have been undergoing with the 40-point route of South Brunswick on the road. The Eagles wasted little time in taking a 7-0 lead after The Eagles Running Back Junior Bradley Plyler busted straight up the middle for a 65-yd Touchdown just 3 minutes into the game.  Ashley's defense star Jacob Lloyd then gets in on the scoring action after he intercepts a pass that went off a  South Brunswick’s wide receiver’s hands. Llyod then goes 30 yards for touchdown and gives the Eagles a 14-0 lead in just 4 minutes. Jacob Lloyd wanted more as he went up and stole another pass then going 27 yards for the Touchdown giving the Eagles a 21-0 lead with 10:58 until halftime. The Eagles were not down scoring in the half as Plyler  gets his 2nd and Ashley a 27-0 lead with 4:35 until halftime. Plyler ended the half with 120 Yards and 2 touchdowns. Eagles were up 27-0.
After halftime Eagles quarter back Caleb Parker was able to run the old QB sneak from 3 yards out giving Ashley 1 33-point advantage with 6:00 left in the 3rd quarter.  The Eagles defense continued to hold it down as Ashley's Jacob Lloyd got his 3rd interception of the game. Jacob Reed also got in on the Eagles scoring with a 4-yd run. Eagles won by a final score of 40-0 over South Brunswick.
The win improves the Eagles to 2-1 in Conference Play and 3-5 Overall. Next weekends home game against New Hanover is for 1st Place in the Conference and the Eagles are 3 wins away from taking the Regular Season Mid-Eastern Conference Title.
