Eagles Cross Country saw lots of Personal Best times at the New Hanover County Championships Meet

The Screaming Eagles Boys and Girls Cross Country teams were competing in their County Championship Meet this past Thursday at Hugh McRae Park.
Both the Boys and Girls Teams finished in 4th Place and closed the gap between their times and the rest of the County.
In the Boys Race Cody Benton lead the Eagles with his 6th Place finish and a new Season Best time of 17:10. Close behind Cody was Dakota Spruley who destroyed his old personal record with a 17:18 and took 8th Place. The rest of the Eagles in the Varsity race times and places were: Thomas Avery 18:40, Adam Ortega 19:06, James Avery 19:26 and Chris Gomez 19:27.
In the Girls Race the Eagles were lead by Julia Boudreau who finished in 11th Place with a 21:21 followed by Madison Marraccini 22:37, Mack Morgan 22:48, Kendall Hunt 23:03, Mary Andrews 23:15, Zara Bryant 23:34, and Abigail Efting 23:56.
The Boys in the JV Race were lead by Keagan Butler who took 12th with a 18:51. Keagan was followed by Robert Gritzer 19:52, Sam Hagestrom 20:19, CJ Tyson 20:40, Marley VonCannon 20:41, RJ Hunt 20:43, Hunter Graham 20:48, Nathan Ovall 20:54, George Malahias 21:58, Gage Bresee 23:08, Nicholas Martin 23:44, Robbie Schlaline 24:13, Alex Signorello 25:09, Matt Wojtylak 25:27, Jacob Sawyer 25:%1, and Jair Redmond 32:47.
The Girls in the JV Race were lead by Erin Hager who was 10th with a 22:53, followed by Jaden Kopka with a 24:07, Maggie Skelton 24:08, Kaela Groseclose 24:15, Madison Smith 24:53, Peyton Dunker 25:11, Loring Pena-Welch 25:22, Keeli Bresee 25:26, Danielle Mark 25:38, Katrina Britingham 27:07, Amanda McIntyre 27:29, Ashley Merritt 27:33, Emilee Troutwine 27:33, Mareline Taylor 30:13, Caitlyn Leigh 32:50, Farrah Newton 33:33.
All but 4 Eagles ran there personal best times of the season in this race with some dropping over 2 minutes off there time. The Eagles will be competing in the Mid-Eastern Conference Championships coming up next Thursday at Hugh McRae Park. Please come out and support the Eagles, 1st race is at 4:00PM.
