Ashley  moves to 13 -2.  ( 10-2 MEC). Also, just a side note, West Brunswick showed great sportsmanship and allowed our injured senior, (torn ACL) Abigail Efting to score the first goal of the game on out Senior night.  Just was a super nice sportsmanship thing to do in a day that we don’t see that very often!!!

• 4/26 – Eagles suffer loss to New Hanover - Ashley headed to Buck Hardee field on Tuesday for a conference game with the New Hanover Wildcats. They came up empty on the night, suffering a 5-0 defeat.
Chrisitian Tafoya threw 5 innings on the mound, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7 Wildcat hitters. But some Ashley defensive miscues, and an overall poor performance at the plate were too much to overcome.
Michael Phillips, Lee Fentress, and Vinny Farmintino all had hits for Ashley, who dropped to 2-7 in conference play.
• 4/28 – Eagles defeated #3 Ranked West Brunswick 3-2 -  On Thursday night at the Ashley baseball field, the Screaming Eagles hosted the West Brunswick Trojans, who came into the game with a 19-game winning streak. The Trojans, who entered the contest with a 20-1 record, and unbeaten in the Mideastern conference, left the park with their first loss in the conference, as Ashley came from behind to win by a score of 3-2.
Price King toed the rubber for the Eagles, keeping the West Brunswick hitters off balance for six innings. He tallied a total of 8 strikeouts, while allowing 5 hits. After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the sixth, Ashley would come to the plate looking to get on the board. With one out, shortstop Christian Tafoya reached on an infield error, moving to second. Michael Phillips followed with a singe to short. Reggie Regan then drove in Tafoya with a groundout. Phillips would then score on a wild pitch to tie the game. D.C. Russ then entered the game at pitcher for Ashley, and held the Trojans scoreless in the 7th inning. Looking for a little magic, Vinny Farmintino worked an 8-pitch at-bat, resulting in a double down the left-field line. After Sean Ross was intentionally walked to set up the force play, D.C. singled through the left side, scoring pinch-runner Luke Winslow with the winning run.
Ashley is now 8-14, with a 3-7 conference record. The Eagles will be at home for the last time this season on Tuesday, as they will have hosted South Brunswick. It will be the last home game for seniors Ethan Walters, Reggie Regan, D.C. Russ, Trevor Price, and Evan Laverick.
