Lots of 1st Place vs. 2nd Place Games this Week

    12-14 Age Division
Thursday, January 23rd
• 7:30PM – American Legion vs. Michael’s Seafood -  After a slow start in the 1st quarter Michael’s Seafood was able to increase their 7-3 lead from the 1st quarter to 21-5 by halftime, outscoring American Legion 14-2 in the 2nd quarter. After halftime Michael’s Seafood continued to pull away in the 3rd quarter outscoring the American Legion again 13-5 giving them a 24-point lead going into the final quarter. In the 4th quarter the American Legion was able to outscore Michael’s but just by a field goal 14-12 giving Michael’s the win 46-24. In 4 games Michael’s Seafood is 4-0 and have outscored their opponents 196-77. HIGHLIGHTS: Michael’s Seafood: #13 Peyton Foster 12, #11 Rocco Farmintino 10, #10 Ethan Graves 9, #1 Fisher Waggett 5, and #2 Dylan McGowan, #12 Daniel Stokes, #5 Cade Smith Martin, #4 Aiden Smith Martin, and #3 Dwight Best each scored 2-points. American Legion: #5 Josh Carney 10, #14 Cosmo Staton 7, #3 Morgan Moulten 3, and #10 Harry Smith Martin and #4 Zac Silver each had 2-points.
• 8:30PM – CBFD vs. El Cazador -  CBFD’s Jas Herring and Tyler Tranchon scored 13-points between the 2 of them in the 1st quarter giving the CBFD a early 13-9 lead. The 4-point lead remained going into halftime as both teams picked up 6-points in the 2nd quarter. After halftime Tyler again lead the CBFD’s offensive charge with 9-points as they outscored El Cazador 13-4 in the 3rd quarter. In the final quarter the CBFD continued to pull away winning by a final score of 41-24. The win improves the CBFD to 1-2 on the season while El Cazador falls to 1-3. HIGHLIGHTS: CBFD #13 tyler Tranchon24, #11 Joseph Barker 9, #2 Jas Herring 5, #12 Sebastian Ashby 2, #4 Andrew Harris 1. El Cazador: #11 Austin Johnson 9, #13 Sam Hobbs 5, #5 Brayden West 4, #12 Ben Stout and #1 Jacob Lamkin 2-points each, and #2 Cameron Jordan and #3 Cayne Davis each had a point.
Friday, January 23rd
• 6:30PM – Nikki’s vs. Superior Medical – Superior used a 15-2 run in the 1st quarter to control the tempo of this game. By halftime they extended their lead to 28-10. After halftime Superior slowed down on their offense but continued to pull away outscoring Nikki’s 6-3 in the 3rd quarter and 9-0 in the 4th to take the win 43-13. The win improves Superior Medical to 2-1 on the season while Nikki’s drops to 0-3. HIGHLIGHTS: Superior Medical: #5 Jantzen Hartsell  17, #11 Carson Garner 8, #14 Peyton Blankenbecker 7, #12 Thomas Blankenbecker 5, #10 Nick Reeves 4-points, and #13 Aaron Carter 2. Nikki’s: #4 Michael Stewart and #13 Brody McSwain 4-points each, #1 Coleman Lamendola 3 and #10 Dylan Smith 2.
    15-17 Age Division
Friday, January 23rd
• 7:30PM – Hamm Hearing Aids vs. CBPD – After a close 7-4 1st quarter Hamm was able to jump out to a 9-point lead by halftime 20-11. After halftime Hamm let up and CBPD was able to get to within 6-points by the end of the 3rd quarter 26-20. However in the 4th quarter Hamm’s offense was able to pull way again after their offense scored 14 giving them the win 40-28. The win improves Hamm Hearing Aids to 3-1 and keeps them in 2nd Place while the CBPD falls to 1-3. HIGHLIGHTS: Hamm Hearing Aids: #4 Scott Best 14, #14 Hawthorne Hamm 11, #3 Nash Best 8, #11 Larry Davis 4, and #5 Vinny Farmintino 3. CBPD: #1 Braelyn Little 7, #14 Dillon Smith and #5 Drake Overton 6-points each, #2 Michael Gotto 4, #11 Ra’Shawn Anglin 2, and #4 Brandon Buer 1.
• 8:30PM – Allied Pest Control vs. Blackburn Brothers Seafood – After a 5-3 1st quarter Allied Pest Control was able to take a 3-point lead going into halftime 10-7. However after halftime Blacknburn Brothers was able go on a 6-1 run in the 3rd quarter to take a 13-11 lead. In the final quarter Blackburn Brothers was really able to pull away outscoring Allied Pest Control 17-8 to take the win 30-19. The win keeps Blackburn Brothers perfect on their season at 4-0 while dropping Allied to 0-4. HIGHLIGHTS: Blackburn Brothers: #14 Julian Blackburn 16, #5 Kyle Dowling 5, #12 Brett Harris 4, #4 Grady Yopp 3, and #11 Matthew Rood 2. Allied Pest Control: #4 Cameron Seyer 5, #10 Sean Anderson 4, #13 Ja’Quel Sidberry 3, #2 Lucas Galonka, #14 Nicholas Galonka and #1 Dakota Spruley 2-points each, and #3 Joshua Stewart 1.
    6-8 Age Division
Saturday, January 24th
• 9:00AM – CB Realty vs. Island Montessori – CB Realty wasted little time in this game jumping out to a 7-2 lead in the 1st quarter and extending that lead to 13-points by halftime 20-7. After halftime CB Realty pulled back on the offense, but maintained their defensive pressure allowing just 3 field goals in the 2nd half. Meanwhile their offense picked up 4-points in the 3rd quarter and 2 in the 4th to take the win 26-14. The win keeps CB Realty perfect at 4-0 on their season while Island Montessori dropped to 0-4. HIGHLIGHTS: CB Realty: #2 Cane Mehling 10, #11 Wyatt Ellis  Island Montessori: #2 Vaughn Batchelor 6, #11 Kieran Bradley 3, #13 Nick Latta and #10 Vincent Agrillo 2-points each, and #12 Marea Bradley 1.
• 10:00AM –Froyoz of CB vs. Hines Senior Center – Froyoz was able to take the early lead after the 1st quarter in this game 7-4. The 3-point lead would remain untilhalftime as both teams only managed 2-points in the 2nd quarter. After halftime Hines Senior Center was able to turn up their defense allowing 0 field goals and just 2-points in the 2nd half. Meanwhiule their offense picked up 7 in the 3rd quarter and 8 in the 4th to take the win 24-8. The win improves Hines Senior Center to 4-0 on the season while Froyoz dropped to 1-3. HIGHLIGHTS: Hines Senior Center: #5 Shay Payne 10, #11 Connor McPherson 5, #4 Thad Henry and #12 Talan Groseclose 4-points each, and #13 David Lawerence 1. Fryoz of CB: #10 Grant Rusceti, #12 Nate Jarrell, #14 Jonathan Baggie, and #4 Wynton Lawrie 2-points each.
• 11:00AM – PI Exercise Club vs. Island Tackle – This was a very close game with PI Exercise Club taking a early 4-1 lead after the 1st quarter. However in the 2nd quarter thanks to 4 free throws by Island Tackle’s Rayne Schoonmaker his team was able to take a 1-point lead going into halftime 7-6 after outscoring PI Exercise Club 6-2. After halftime PI Exercise Club was able to retake the lead 8-7 after outscoring Island Tackle 2-0 in the 3rd quarter. In the final quarter Schoonmaker again picked up some big baskets including the game winning shots from the free throw line giving Island Tackle the win 12-11. Island Tackle is now 2-2 on the season while PI Exercise Club dropped to 1-3. HIGHLIGHTS: Island Tackle Rayne Schoonmaker 9, #14 Alex Testori 2 and E10 Cody Harrison 1. PI Exercise Club: #4 Nate Goins 5, #11 Layith Monroe 4, and #3 Avery Saffo 2.
    9-11 Age Division
• 1:00PM – Lazy Pirate vs. Mid-Atlantic Drilling – Mid-Atlantic jumped out to a big lead after going on a 11-1 run throughout the 1st quarter and didn’t look back. By halftime they extended their lead to 19-points after a 15-6 2nd quarter. After halftime Mid-Atlantic continued to pull ahead of Lazy Pirate outscoring them 11-2 in the 3rd quarter and a 6-6 4th quarter. Mid-Atlantic Drilling moved into a tie for 2nd Place with a 3-1 record after the 43-15 win. Lazy Pirate dropped to 2-2. HIGHLIGHTS: Mid-Atlantic Drilling: #1 Aiden Payne 20-points, #11 Nate Milin 8, #2 Blaine Mays 4, #4 Matthew Silver, #13 Grayson Harris, and #12 Brian Graybush each had 2-points and #14 Justin Miles had a point. Lazy Pirate: #12 Jacob Chalmers 6, #11 Jadon Morini and #3 Owen Morini each had 4-points, and #4 Blake Wells 1.
• 2:00PM – NHRMC vs. CloudWyze – Both teams offenses came out shooting in this battle between both undefeated teams and after the 1st quarter the game was tied at 6-6. In another close quarter NHRMC was able to outscore CloudWyze by a point to take the lead going into halftime 11-10. After halftime CloudWyze’s offense exploded picking up 16-points, while their defense allowed just 5-points giving them a 10-point lead 26-16. In the final quarter CloudWyze and NHRMC traded baskets with CloudWyze outscoring NHRMC by a point 6-5 to take the win 32-21. CloudWyze is now 4-0 on the season while NHRMC fell to 3-1. HIGHLIGHTS: CloudWyze: #1 Trey Johnson 8, #13 Keegan Peat, #10 Neil Sims, and #3 Bradley Spartley each had 6-points, #14 Jared Becken 4, and #11 Kenan Everhart 2-points. NHRMC: #11 Mason Massey 6, #2 Taj Monroe 5, #10 Jackson Kupec 4, #12 Cathryn Paquet, #5 Dominic Farmintino and #3 Sam McNamara 2-points each.
• 3:00PM – Kure Beach Pier vs. CBPD – Kure Beach Pier was abe to jump out to a big lead in this game after going on a 8-2 run in the 1st quarter, The 6-point lead carried over to halftime after each team picked up 2-points in the 2nd quarter. After halftime Kure Beach Pier was able to extend their lead to 10-points 18-8 after outscoring the CBPD 8-4. In the final quarter the CBOD was able to get their offense going scoring 8-points, however the rally was cut short and Kure Beach Pier went on to win their 1st game of the season 20-16. HIGHLIGHTS: CBPD: #5 Jayce Atansoff 6, #12 Kendall Marcucilli and #4 Chad Fleshman each had 4-points, and #10 Alexa Burghardt 2-points. Kure Beach Pier: #12 Sam Martin and #10 Keaton Green each had 6-points, #11 Cameron Bope 4, and #5 Cole Hamilton and #14 Maddox Green each had 2-points.
• 4:00PM – CB Downtown Initiative vs. Jet Mulch – After a slow 2-1 1st quarter CBDI’s offense picked up 10-[points in the 2nd quarter while their defense held Jet Much to 2-points giving them a 9-point lead at halftime 12-3. After halftime Jet Mulch was able to keep the came close and cut a point off the lead now at 16-8. In the final quarter CBDI was able to pull away after picking up some important baskets giving them the win 26-12. The win put CB Downtown Initiative a 3-1 record and dropped Jet mulch to 0-4. HIGHLIGHTS: CBDI: #11 Brynn Little 8, #1 Nic Lamendola 6, #10 Leo Baggie and #13 Jacob Baugher each had 4-points, and #3 JL Yopp and #13 Collin Kitts each had 2-points. Jet Mulch: #3 TJ Parker 5, #14 Cole Johnson 3, and #4 Caleb Neal and #12 Blake Olanovich each had 2-points.
