This weekend the Pleasure Island 9U Barracudas went to North Myrtle Beach to compete in the Rawlings Homerun Challenge.  The boys did not disappoint.  Although the schedule was flipped due to teams dropping out and no-showing, the Barracudas kept focus and played a best 2/3 series with Rock Solid Blue for the right to be called champions.  With timely hitting and a lock down defense the Barracudas walked away with a sweep of RS Blue to capture the championship and a paid berth to this years Global World Series being held at Grand Park Sports Complex in Myrtle Beach July 10-14.  The boys each received new batting gloves and the team was awarded the Crystal Bat for their effort.
You can see these boys in action each week as all practices are open to the public, Tues/Thurs at Mike Chappell Park.  The 9U Barracudas take to the diamond next weekend for the East Coast Summer Championships being held at Grand Park and Pepper Geddings Fields in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Come down and support these local boys as they work to bring more championships back to the beach.
