Pleasure Island Youth Baseball to host the District 3 Area 2 Cal Ripken 12U All Star tournament June 18-21

Pleasure Island Youth Baseball will host the District 3 Area 2 Cal Ripken 12U All Star tournament June 18-21.  Six teams including Pleasure Island, Topsail, Winter Park, Supper Optimist, Kinston Lenoir, and 2 time defending Cal Ripken World Series Champions West Raleigh will participate in the 4 day tournament.  Games will get started Thursday at 5pm with Kinston Lenoir taking on West Raleigh.  Pleasure Island, coached by Tony Scott, will follow at 7pm with a tilt against the team from Topsail.  Play will resume on Friday at 1pm and will feature 4 games total on the day.  Three games will be played on Saturday beginning at 11am.  The championship game will take place Sunday at 2pm, with a 4pm game if necessary.  The tournament is double elimination and 3 of the 6 teams will advance to the state tournament at Sandhills NC on July 9.  All games will take place at Mike Chappell Park and admission is free.  No coolers or outside drinks are allowed as the concession stand will be open serving drinks, popcorn, nachos, candy, and of course hot dogs.
