By / Local Sports / Wednesday, 14 October 2015 04:00

The Wilmington Pirates 10U Baseball Club is going to put their talents on display to raise money for Breast Cancer this Sunday October 18th from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at Veteran's Park Little League Fields. The boys are asking for your help.
Each player will be taking as many swings against live pitching as they can. Every swing matters and gets the boys closer to their goal of 250 swings each. 50% of the money raised will go to the Susan G Komen Fund to Fight Breast Cancer.
The remaining 50% will go towards the Wilmington Pirate Baseball Club.
There are two ways to lend your support, (1) A per swing amount - example $ .10 per swing or (2) a total amount - example $25.00. There is not a minimum or maximum amount to pledge, but every penny helps. Each player will take as many swings as they can in a 4 hour period. There will be multiple stations set up so the boys will have enough time to swing and make a difference. Coaches and parents will be counting the swings. Please help the boys achieve their goal of donating $1,000.00 to breast cancer. Money can be collected at time of sponsorship or if sponsoring an amount per swing the money will be collected after the boys have completed their swings. We encourage all sponsors to come out and watch these boys, they are a great group of young men that work hard, have fun, and play the game the right way.
They understand the value of community and giving back. They are more than baseball players, they are big hearted kids who want to help in any way they can.
Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the diamond! For information please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. subject 2 Base or call 910-547-7631.
