Cape Fear Flyers Cross Country season is up and running!  This USATF Junior Olympic running club is coaching close to 40 runners ranging from ages 5-15 at all ability levels.  Runners are learning about form, pacing, breathing and how to enjoy running through drills, games and activities.  The season began with timed trials.  Runners ages 8 and under ran a 2K; ages 9-12 ran a 3k; and ages 13-14 ran a 4k.
With incredible support from parents, the runners enjoyed the time trial and celebrated their efforts while giving their coaches a starting point for the season.  Cape Fear Flyers goal is to teach proper running form but to make the experience a fun one! AND it's not too late to join.  Practices are held twice a week from 5:30-7 at Veterans Park.  The season will run through the beginning of December and will include some local races as well as the North Carolina USATF Junior Olympic State Cross Country meet in Greensboro.  High school aged children plan to join the team as well when their own cross country season ends.  Please visit capefearflyers.com for more information!
