UPDATE: Michael Brice Johnson was arrested and put on a $7,500 dollar secured bond and confined in the New Hanover County Jail on Friday, June 29th.

CAROLINA BEACH - On the night of June 24, 2018, a victim residing at 308 Carolina Beach Ave. North reported a burglary at the residence. Multiple undisclosed items were reported stolen. 
Upon officer investigation a personal item was located and was determined it was left on scene by one of the suspects. Prior to the incident and on the night in question, a Patrol Officer had stopped multiple suspicious people in the area of the burglary location. 
Once reviewing the officer’s camera of the stop, it was determined one of the suspects was in possession of the item left behind at the burglary scene.

A 1st Degree Burglary warrant for arrest was issued by a New Hanover County Magistrate for Michael Brice Johnson, a 19 year old male from Hillsborough,NC.

This case is still under investigation.  No additional details will be released at this time and additional suspects and charges are expected.
