CAROLINA BEACH - The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce announced on Monday June 25th, a new festival coming to the beach front at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk on August 25th, 2018 called the "Rock The Beach Festival".

According to Greg Reynolds - President of the Chamber - "With the success, earlier this month at the 33rd Annual Carolina Beach Music Festival and the great reception we had for the Beatles Tribute Band last summer, the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce would like to announce the Inaugural "Rock The Beach Festival" to be held on the Carolina Beach Municipal Beach Strand at the New and Historic Carolina Beach Boardwalk on Saturday August 25th."

Reynolds explained the festival is being billed as an  opportunity to “Drink your own beer and listen to the songs that you KNOW”.

Reynolds explained, "This new Festival will offer the opportunity to bring your own coolers and listen to the top three Tribute Bands in the Southeast today perform all of your favorite classic songs, all while you are closing out the summer on sunny and beautiful Carolina Beach. After the sun breaks the horizon, we anticipate thousands of eager fans to  lineup at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk to claim their piece of real estate heaven in the sand to welcome our first band at 11:00 am.  We should have ideal beach conditions to spread out and dance the day away.  .Hailing from The Triangle area of North Carolina, we bring you TRES LOCOS – the ZZ Top Tribute band playing all your favorite classics like “Sharp Dressed Man”, “Cheap Sunglasses” and everybody’s favorite “Pearl Necklace”.

He explained, "Promptly at 1:00, IDLEWILD SOUTH will be bringing you the smooth Southern Rock sounds of The Allman Brothers.  Presenting selections from the Allman Brothers from 1969-2000, Idlewild South brings you that non-stop power of the live shows the Brothers were known for…Kick back and enjoy your favorites like “Whipping Post”, Sweet Malissa” and “Rambling Man”. Closing out the Festival,  the afternoon would not be complete without the rebel-rousing samples of  TUESDAY’S GONE which is everyone’s favorite - the Ultimate Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band.  They will bring the raw energy and excitement of the original legendary 1970’s version of Skynyrd. For over a decade, Tuesday’s Gone has played all over the United States bringing you the music of one of the greatest bands of all time.  Remember “What’s Your Name”, “Sweet Home Alabama” and of course “Free Bird”.

Reynolds said there will be an added bonus, four local breweries have been invited to the festival. He explained, "We are inviting four of the best local breweries to offer their best craft beers to be served on the new Carolina Beach Boardwalk.  Take a break from the sun and come purchase your favorite craft beer (in plastic, of course) and keep on dancing to all the great tunes."

Reynolds explained high tide will be before 8am the day of the festival and they anticipate attendance will top the Carolina Beach Music Festival held earlier this month.

He explained, "Plan to get your tickets early and arrive on site early to get the best seat to the soon-to-be premiere End-Of-The-Summer Festival. Tickets will go on sale this week on Eventbrite and hard tickets will follow shortly at all the usual ticket outlets.  For just $20 Advance, bring your coolers (no glass or hard liquor”) and plenty of SPF 50 and be ready to rock and roll to your three favorite bands in the sand!"
