American Legion Holds Memorial Day Service At Carolina Beach Lake

American Legion Post 129 in Carolina Beach held a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on May 30th at the Carolina Beach Lake. Families attended the ceremony honoring their memories of military personnel that made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.  Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. While those who died are also remembered, Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. Read more on page 1-B... American Legion Holds Memorial Day Service At Carolina Beach Lake Featured

This past Monday, the American Legion Post 129 held their annual Memorial Day Program. A huge crowd gathered at the Carolina Beach Lake for a welcomed ceremony followed by a free Hot Dog Lunch with all the fixings back at the Legion building. Please come out and support the American Legion Post 129 at their next Fish Fry, Friday June 7th. The event is held the first Friday of every month from 11:00am until 7:00pm at 1500 Bridge Barrier Road just down from the Carolina Beach Post Office.  For only $8-$10 a person you can enjoy a delicious plate of fresh fried whiting or cat fish nuggets along with any of their great sides!
