We are showcasing an up and coming artist at Artful Living Group on Thursday, May 12 from 6:30-8:30.  Her name is Jill Jackson and " Sentinels of the Coast" is the title of her exhibit.
It's a nod to all the lighthouses of NC that have quietly done their job of helping Mariners safely navigate the waters off the NC coast.
Jackson is a native of Pittsburgh, PA.  She studied cosmetology and used her creative skills beautifying clients, never realizing the artistic talent she had hidden below the surface.
Her life took a turn and an opportunity came for her to leave her home state and move south to Wilmington where, once again she worked with clients eventually opening up her own salon.
Two years ago she retired from her lifelong career.  With new found time on her hands, it was natural for her to pick up a paint brush.  Her work is sophisticated and refined and shows no clue that she has not been doing this her whole life.
Normally her originals are not for sale.  She reproduces her images as giclees, however during this show she will offer several originals for sale.  The show will hang for the whole month of May.
Come out and meet her.  Light refreshments will be offered.  Meet this most delightful woman who gives a refreshing image of happy.  xo mo
