Rhodes’ Rule:“If you aim at nothing, you will ALWAYS hit your target.”

This week is bittersweet for me as one door closes and another one opens.  Chris and I are saying goodbye to our home away from home for the past 6 years as we lock the door for the last time on Artful Living Group Sunday, September 3rd.  On Wednesday August 31, we will have a closing reception 6:30-8:30 pm and as usual, hope you will come out to greet the featured artist for the month of August, Jan Feury, local Carolina Beach gal and share in the festivities.  There will be food as usual, drinks and LOTS of STUFF on SALE.  It is the perfect time to start your Christmas shopping….wait, did I really say Christmas shopping?  I did.  Just do it.

Chris will be relocating her studio to Bennett Lane and better yet, she will be offering individual classes on jewelry making, something our customers have been asking for, for years.  Glynne’s Soaps will be setting up their soap making studio there and I just heard of one other artist who may be joining them (but I cannot tell you just as yet.)  Artful Living Group will be launched online in October. It is a new world.

Meanwhile, I will be setting up shop at Carolina Beach Furniture.  You know, the FUN place to shop.  Although I have been trained in the complete Interior Design field, my real passions are paint color selection, window treatments and anything fabric such as slipcovers, reupholstry and accessories like pillows and cushions, and Professional Pyramid Feng Shui.  Come see me there if you have those needs.

Now that we will no longer have retail hours I will serve my community in Kure Beach more on a volunteer basis.  To get started on Tuesday September 6 from 5:30-7:30 you can learn how businesses can improve profitability through environmental sustainability. The NC GreenTravel Initiative is a FREE program and provides valuable statewide marketing for travelers. Join us at Kure Beach Town Hall for a presentation by Tom Rhodes, GreenTravel Initiative Program Manager at NC DEQ. Be a part of planning for a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous future for Kure Beach. I created a target.  It was called healthy, happy homes and offices.  The artists assist me in creating the happy element.  Tom Rhodes will add the healthy by helping us become green.  Chris and I have hit our target.  Success is doing what you love.  xo mo
