“Nor love, nor honour, wealth nor pow’r, Can give the heart a cheerful hour. When health is lost. Be timely wise; With health all taste of pleasure flies.” ~John Gay, Fables (1727), Part1. Fable 31

Our fifth step in this walk around the bauga centers our attention on HEALTH.  Placing the tic-tac-toe grid on the floorplan of your bedroom, concentrate on what you have in the center of the room for this is where you will find clues to your health.
A good friend and chiropractor, Dr. Jeff Fedorko, once said to me, “If you wear out your body, where are you going to live?”
The HEALTH area of the room is the center, the hub centric with everything else revolving around it.  You can have a good image of self (1), great relationships (2), a strong community or family system (3), feeling at ease with abundance and self empowerment (4), but if you do not have a healthy body, mind and chemical composition, where are you going to live?  Time is fleeting.
Feng shui examines the HEALTH of all situations, choices, and environments.  Consider the fact that you have three bodies: 1-your physical body enclosed by your skin, 2-your mental/spiritual/emotional body corralled by your thoughts and 3-the body of space surrounding you on the outside, nature if you are out of doors or the room or building you are in, if you are indoors.  Because of the the complex relationship between all three, there is a cause and effect if any one is out of balance.
This new millennium has found many of us taking back responsibility for our physical health (first body) from our doctors.  Instead of taking drugs to mask our symptoms, we are becoming proactive my making healthy food choices.
Simply by removing inflammatory foods from a diet, pain and other illnesses can be reduced. Acupuncture, chiropractics and a myriad of other healing modalities can complement western medicine when given the chance, reducing the risk of opioid addiction.
It is no longer shameful to enlist the help of a psychologist or psychiatrist to deal with negative feelings. Science has discovered the neuroplasticity of the brain (second body) which means it can be rewired for success using mindfulness therapies (ancient secrets in a modern paradigm.)
We are discovering the simplicity of the binary system of our cells.  Much like a computer, your cells are either switched on or switched off. According to Dr. Bruce Lipton, it is the perception of your cells as to how you respond to a stimulus.  That is why some people get sick in a situation and others survive.
When examining the health of the home (third body) look for toxins in the indoor air quality, tap water, and electromagnetic pollutants.  If you are not getting a restful night’s sleep, it could be caused by the smart meter placed on your house by Duke Energy.  We enclosed ours with a Faraday Cage.  We only use paints in the home with no VOC’s and choose natural products over plastics.  Mold and mildew exposure can be life threatening over a period of time but removing them with chemicals, bleach and ammonia can be just as nasty to your body and the waterways surrounding us. I once had a client who had a Nordic Track in the the center of her bedroom.  It seemed like a healthy object until I realized she never used it for anything other than a clothes horse.  We removed it and opened up the space to BREATHE.  She began a program of walking in the fresh air, in her neighborhood which surrounded a golf course, where she met other people (fulfilling her desire for more social time) but even better yet, she met a particular man fulfilling her desire for a boyfriend!
Open up your space.  Consider health in all you do.  Set your intentions. Don’t be fooled by old ways.  Everything revolves around the health of your three bodies.  xo mo
