Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church News

Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church is a place where people of all races, backgrounds and walks of life come together to worship and grow in their relationship with God. At Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church you’ll find a unique experience of church. Come as you are for worship, prayer, and Bible study.
TONIGHT!!!  Join us Wednesday night at 6:30 for a pot luck dinner. After dinner, we will have a hymn sing in the fellowship hall!  Very informal and a lot of fun!
KIDS - Don’t miss our Lego Club!!! St. Paul’s Lego Club meets from 5:45pm – 6:45 pm every Wednesday upstairs at St Paul’s UMC. The club is open to all elementary aged children (6yo-11yo).Primarily the participants are allowed to build and play with our thousands of Lego as they wish. However, occasionally, we embark on a group project.  Come join us!
Sunday sermon - The church is not the building, it’s the people.  During the month of May we’ll talk about some of the qualities that make us who we are, beginning with a vision for where we believe God is leading us in our missions and ministries.
May 8th - Scripture: John 17:20-26 (Jesus prays for unity)
Sermon: “Unity in Christ”
Theme: Jesus prayed that his followers would be one, and we are a part of The United Methodist Church.  What does that mean for us, and how do we work for it?

Never heard of a “Vineyard” church? We are one of about 1500 churches worldwide affiliated with the Vineyard. Carolina Coast was started in June, 2012 in a living room. We are now located in the Pavilion, at the foot of Snows Cut bridge.
We are a very friendly faith community who really believe in providing a “no judgment” zone, accepting each other just as we are, and together, growing in our Christian faith through worship, studying the Scripture and serving others.
What to expect? An casual style service with contemporary worship, a relevant Scripture based message and a sense of community. Just so that you know…flip flops are a part of our warmer weather attire. Come a little early for a cup of coffee and something to eat. Happenings at CCVC during the week:
Mondays: Holy Yoga 6-7pm ($7 walk-in, multiple class discount available)
Wednesdays: The Gathering:  6:30 pot luck, 7pm Study. Topics vary
Thursday mornings: April 7th -June 30th : GriefShare class 10-noon,  ($15 for workbook) Each week will focus on a different aspect of the Grief process and is designed to help us know that what we are feeling is normal and that you do not have to go through it alone.
Thursday evenings: Recovery group 7-9 We are all recovering from something in our lives that have affected us in negative ways. This is a safe place to come and begin healing together.

Troop 867 Celebrates Girl Scout Sunday at Kure Memorial
117 North 3rd Ave, (910)458-5266 • Kure Beach, NC 28449

On Sunday, May 1st, Girl Scouts from Troop 867 participated in Girl Scout Sunday at Kure Memorial Lutheran Church.  Thirteen Girl Scouts participated in the worship service through reading Scripture, offering prayers, serving as the ushers and acolyte and presenting the Communion elements.
Kure Memorial Lutheran Church has sponsored our Girl Scouts for the past four years, offering their fellowship hall for our meeting location and supporting the girls in earning their My Promise, My Faith religious award.
The church also includes the girl scouts in community service activities, such as making toiletry kits for local migrant workers.  We are so grateful to Pastor Dan Keck and everyone at KML for being so welcoming and inclusive of our Girl Scouts!

Kure Memorial Lutheran Church Updates

KURE BEACH, NC - Words of Encouragement:   “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”  Psalm 147:3.
Have you noticed flocks of pink flamingos appearing randomly in your neighbors’ yards?
If so, it is probably the result of a fund raiser by our Mission Team for our mission trip to Costa Rica this summer.  Nothing says “thinking of you” more than a flock of flamingos in your friend’s yard.
You can “flock” a friend, by making a contribution toward the mission trip.  The Mission Team is also sponsoring a pancake breakfast at Highway 55 on Carolina Beach Road between 8 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30.  Cost is $6.00 per person.  Tickets will be available at the door.  Contact Pastor Dan for more information or to reserve your flock.
