The Polar Plunge is taking place on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Pleasure Island’s Kure Beach Boardwalk, near the Kure Beach pier.
Join us as we take a chilly plunge in the Atlantic Ocean to benefit Special Olympics.  It is an opportunity for the adventurous and the not so adventurous to have a great time and to support the New Hanover County Special Olympics program.    You can plunge as an individual or a member of a team.  REMEMBER - NO WETSUITS!
If you cannot bare the cold to plunge then join us for the annual 5K run or 1 mile fun walk.  The race will be held in Kure Beach on a certified course and it is open to all ages and skill abilities.  5K runners are not required to plunge but are encouraged to heat up with the 5K and cool down with the Polar Plunge.
100% of the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics, New Hanover County, athletes providing them with year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
