Wilmington Symphony Orchestra Welcomes Violinist Kevin Lawrence to the Wilson Center Stage

WILMINGTON, NC – The Wilmington Symphony’s 2016-17 Masterworks Series continues on Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 pm with “Operatic Orchestra” featuring violinist Kevin Lawrence. Praised for his "vibrant intensity," (The Times, London) and playing "supremely convincing in its vitality," (Cleveland Plain Dealer) violinist Kevin Lawrence has consistently elicited superlative responses for his performances throughout the United States and Europe. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and Chair of the String Department at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, which recognized him with its Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007.Mr. Lawrence will perform Antonin Dvořák’s tuneful Violin Concerto. Also on the program is a selection of iconic orchestral preludes, interludes, and dances from the world of opera, including Richard Strauss’s exotic Dance of the Seven Veils.
