Merry Christmas!  I hope you are enjoying much happiness and good health during the Christmas holidays, and that happiness and health will remain with you throughout the new year.
Due to some combination of the weather being cold and me getting old, I just have not had the mojo to get out and go fishing this week.  My mind and my time have been occupied with Christmas, and with planning a new year.
Christmas will be over in a matter of hours so let me tell you about our plans for the new year.  First of all,  this is my last contribution to the Hook Line & Sinker. That makes me a little sad, as I have truly loved writing these weekly reports and I know I will miss it.
By the way, I offer my most sincere thanks to those that made it possible for me to do this. (you know who you are)  Starting next week, the new guy at the helm will be Captain John Thoedorakis.  John’s a great captain and angler, well connected with the local fishing scene, and I hope he will enjoy HL&S even half as much as I have.
Now that first mate Lucy has retired, we will begin traveling around to try some new fishin’ holes. Over the winter we can be found on some piers on the Gulf Coast, maybe a charter boat out of Biloxi, and some swamp tours in Louisiana.  We’ve dreamed about this for a long time…  Here we go!
Lastly, let me repeat something I said in last week’s report…  How thankful we are to live is this wonderful community of Pleasure Island. God Bless you all.
