Win’s Keep the Eagles in 2nd Place in the Conference at 4-1

• 9/23 - Miserable Weather - Good Result - Rain, rain, and more rain but no lightning so the Eagles were able to get their game in. Juan Bernardez got us started just one and a half minutes into the game. Drew Walters pushed a through ball to Juan who outran the entire South Brunswick defense to bury the ball in the back of the net. Drew "Mr. Hat Trick" Walters scored his first of three goals at the seven and a half minute mark to give us a 2 goal lead. A defensive error was made and the Cougars were able to get one back. Durwin Hamilton finished off the opening half scoring with an assist from Espin Gilbert. Drew added his other two goals within seven minutes of the start of the second half. Final score Ashley 5 South Brunswick 1. The Eagles are now 5-5-2 overall and 2nd place in the conference with a 3-1 record.
The JV team had a stellar performance again and won 6 to 0. Their overall record is 8-2 and 3-1 in the conference.
• 9/25 – Ashley 3 Topsail 0 - Keller Records Complete Game Shutout - Six games in eight days is an awful lot for these players to survive but they ended the marathon on a great note. The defenders are a little banged up with two starters out (Britton Deets and Seba Gonzalez) and a third (Alex Bautista) leaving the game tonight after 20 minutes.
They rest Zack Smith, Logan Wain, Noah Wilcox, Evan Laverick, and Nick Hancock were able to turn back every Pirate attack to keep Topsail's score at zero. Even though we spent the majority of the first half on Topsail's side of the field we could not score a goal until the 33rd minute when Drew Walters fed the ball to Durwin Hamilton who blasted it into the lower corner. Less than a minute into the second half Drew Walters scored on a great assist from Ryan Powers. The final goal came in the 77th minute from Pedro Gomez on a Duenis Aviola assist. Final score Ashley 3 Topsail 0. Overall Record 6-5-2 Conference 4-1 (2nd place)
The JV Team won by a score of 5-0. Their overall record is 9-2 and conference record is also 4-1.
