This past Saturday the Wilmington Road Runners Club couldn’t have asked for better weather at their Annual Turkey Trot in Carolina Beach’s State Park. Almost 250 participants trotted off their Thanksgiving meal through the 4-mile course that showcased the natural beauty of the park. This years top male and female winners were 37-year-old David Thompson with a time of 22:28 and 39-year-old Kimberly Mueller with a time of 24:19, the pair received a two-night stay at Golden Sands oceanfront hotel! For a complete list of results and age group awards visit www.brunswicktiming.com.  All proceeds from the Wilmington Road Runners Club’s (WRRC) Turkey Trot will benefit Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area to continue a discretionary fund for the park. Proceeds will help support park projects to be determined by Staff at both parks for special purchases not allocated by their budget. Special thanks to all of this year’s sponsors and participants who helped the Wilmington Roadrunners Club enhance and promote their valuable resources that are Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area!
